Veronique Wantz

Founder

1962 - 2018

Veronique Wantz was an active member of the Twin Cities art scene for the last 17 years as a gallery director and a senior art consultant, both in St. Paul and Minneapolis.

Originally from France, where she received her Master of Art History from Ecole du Louvre in Paris. She specialized in the 17th through 19th centuries in European furniture and decorative objects and Chinese Export porcelain. Veronique worked as an antique dealer and gallery curator in Paris for more than 10 years.

From a very early age, Veronique was the consummate art lover, growing up in a family of art collectors, going to museums on Sunday outings, and following in the footsteps of a dearly loved paternal grandmother who once owned and ran an art gallery in Paris in the 1930s. She nurtured her into her own love for all art forms, antiques, classical ballet, concerts and plays.

Margot Rosenstein

Gallery Director

At an early age, Margot left her native Indianapolis to spend summers visiting her aunt in New York City. Repeated visits to the city’s stellar galleries and museums were a highlight of these magical summers, and her love of modern and contemporary art soon blossomed. Her passion led to studying art history at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

After college, Margot was back in NYC, where she spent the next ten years working at various art galleries and gaining valuable insight into the contemporary art scene. As fate would have it, she met her Minnesota-raised husband in New York, and they decided to move to Minneapolis to raise their family. With its vibrant cultural scene full of life and energy, Margot has affectionately called this special Midwestern metropolis her home for over fifteen years.

Margot believes art is for everyone and that it plays an important and universal role in bringing people together from all walks of life. She enjoys working with the many artists the gallery represents, organizing exhibitions, and working with a wide range of clients, including collectors, interior designers and corporations.

Joanne Jaensch-Rosenstein

Gallery Consultant

Joanne spent most of her childhood and part of her teens in Papua, New Guinea, and Australia.  Her exposure to different cultures led to her lifelong interest in understanding and learning about different ways of life, including an appreciation of indigenous art.

After graduating from college with a degree in Anthropology and Asian Studies, Joanne lived in Japan for four years.  While in Japan, she pursued her interest in traditional Japanese arts, including tea ceremony, calligraphy, learning koto and ikebana. When Joanne returned to the US, she settled in Minneapolis and worked as the head of the Legal Personnel Department for a large downtown Minneapolis law firm for 15 years.  One of the key components of her position was recruiting lawyers to move to the Twin Cities -- this included introducing young recruits to our top-notch local galleries and museums.

After taking a break from working to raise her children, Joanne is thrilled to be involved in the local art world and working at the gallery with her sister-in-law, Margot.
