Veronique Wantz died in Paris, France, on July 28th, 2018 at age 56.  She had suffered from Multiple Myeloma for the last five years and eventually ran out of options.  She wanted to be at home in Paris for her final days.

Veronique was surrounded by friends and family from the time she landed there.  In the last week, at the hospital, she was never alone, day or night.

A funeral Mass was offered for Veronique in Paris on August 2 at Église Notre-Dame-des-Champs on Boulevard Montparnasse, a fitting farewell, not far from where her parents were born.

Veronique was born in Le Havre on July 25, 1962 to Martine and Jean-Francois Wantz.  She grew up in and near Caen.  She moved to Paris to study art and antiques at the Ecole de Louvre.  From there she traveled far, living in Greece, Singapore, and Indonesia before moving to the United States in 2000.

Since 2010, Vero lived in Wayzata and ran her art gallery in the warehouse district of Minneapolis.  Vero was happy and gave her love to many.

Vero is survived by her parents, brothers Frederic (Laure) and Emmanuel, by her son, Sean Barrett, by nieces and nephews, and by her husband, Jim Hillegass.  We are all sad to see her go, but feel extremely fortunate to have shared our lives with her.
