Owner & Director
Veronique Wantz has been an active member of the Twin Cities art scene for the last 17 years as a gallery director and a senior art consultant, both in St. Paul and Minneapolis.
She is originally from France where she received her Master of Art History from Ecole du Louvre in Paris. She specialized in the 17th through 19th centuries in European furniture and decorative objects and Chinese Export porcelain. Veronique worked as an antique dealer and gallery curator in Paris for more than 10 years.
Veronique has always been an art lover, since a very early age, growing up in a family of art collectors, going to museums on Sunday outings, and following in the footsteps of a dearly loved paternal grandmother who once owned and ran an art gallery in Paris in the 1930s. She nurtured her into her own love for all art forms, antiques, classical ballet, concerts and plays.
Louisa comes from a design background, and previous to working at the Veronique Wantz Gallery she created brands for global companies across Australia, Scotland, England and the United States.
Art has always been a influential part of her life. From creating it, to engaging with it, traveling the world to see galleries big and small and, most importantly, loving it. For her, art is something that the heart and mind connect with in a way that cannot always be explained, but hopefully offers the viewer enlightenment on an everyday and evolving basis.
She spent most of her childhood in Australia, before moving the the UK to follow her other passions of travel and culinary adventures, whilst gaining experience in various design agencies along the way. She has lived in the Twin Cities for over 8 years and embraces the cold winters and stunning summers alike, and is delighted to call it home.
Jacob is a recent graduate from the University of Wisconsin – Stout. While there, he obtained a major in Studio Art focusing in painting with a minor in Business Administration.
Having taken up drawing from a young age, Jacob has followed his artistic path into adulthood using college as a time to learn from his professors and peers. There he developed a passion for painting and sculpture, while also becoming fascinated with art history and its oddities. From the dream-like film work of Bill Viola, to the Americano underbelly sculptures of the Kienholz to the spiritual paintings of Oskar Kokoschka, Jacob enjoys to find and follow art connections into the present day.
Originally from Chippewa Falls, WI, he moved to Minneapolis after graduation with the desire to emerge himself into an active art world. Now making the Twin Cities his new home, Jacob loves exploring and discovering the numerous galleries, museums, and food spots in the area, along with meeting the vibrant people which make up the city and its art scene.
